This assignment focuses on a social issue to work on and create a series of deliverables addressing the chosen issue.

Background

The social issue topic chosen “Good health and well-being". In the UN page, most of the issues addressed is physical well-being and not much about mental well-being. 

Goal

This project aims to raise awareness about the significance of mental health and introducing reliable sources to help people get the help they need. I hope through this, the government would make mental health education essential to the school curriculum and provide funding for counseling, so the everyone of different lifestyles, will able to afford it. 

Overall Key Issues

  • Some teenagers do not know how to seek help.

  • Some parents are unaware that mental health is an important part of a student's growth and may not be equipped with the knowledge to help their children.

Problems Caused

  • Falling into a cycle of what seems to be never-ending self-doubt.

  • Students bottle up their feelings without addressing them.

  • Students may make decisions that have life-changing consequences.

What problem it solves?

  • This project would be the voice of the students struggling to bring up mental health issues.

  • Parents and their children would be more aware of and willing to discuss the issue with each other.

  • Creating a safe space for students to be able to be heard.

This is the pitched graphic novel game idea.

Berri, a chibi strawberry, appears in the game trailer and helps other strawberries throughout the city. Berri is a strawberry to represent Singapore's strawberry generation and how today's educational pressures are hurting their mental health.
